I want to be a housewife.

When I was younger I regularly watched Desperate Housewives with my parents. I don't really watch it anymore because of the show portrays life. It is unrealistic. The cast is made up of mostly women, and their significant others, and their children. The men in the cast is about the same as the women, yet the women are spotlighted more-so. The actors ages range from the teens to about early 40s, yet I wouldn't really guess many of the women to be that old. They all dress very sexy, and upper class. They show a lot of leg and cleavage, something most 40 year old women wouldn't do. The characters are portrayed as sexy, sex-driven, well...bitches. They like their drama, and there is never a week without someone being mad at someone else. There is one Latina character and the rest seem to be white, and all of them are straight. This doesn't seem like a normal neighborhood. The target audience for the show is middle aged women because it shows them a life they could have, or still could have if they can just get a little more money. It uses drama, a few of the women don't work and our supported by their husbands, and it shows them being glamorous in an entertaining way. This show does not portray women, or life in an accurate way. It is much more dramatic in real life and not everyone can be a size 2 at age 40 and look flawless, all the time.
